The role of oxidative stress sirtuin 1 level and gene polymorphism in diabetic nephropathy

Abstract

Traditionally biomarkers are used to monitor and investigate the newlineprogression of diabetic nephropathy. Recent studies showed advanced newlinebiomarkers which are significantly increased in type 2 diabetes mellitus and newlineserve as early biomarkers for glomerular and tubular functions. Apart from newlinethese biomarkers, recently genome-wide associations are discovered and newlinealso several novel genetic variants associated with diabetic nephropathy. newlineElucidating of such genes may be useful for early identification of at-risk newlineindividuals. The present study emphasizes molecular mechanism of sirtuin 1 newlinesnp s rs 3818292 and rs10823108 in diabetic nephropathy. To fill this gap, the study was undertaken to address the impact of genetic events in diabetic nephropathy in south Indian population. newline
