dc.description.abstractnewline Abstract newlineCopper nanoparticles (CuNPs) have garnered attention in dentistry due to their newlinepotential antimi-crobial properties. The study aimed to assess the minimum newlineinhibitory and bactericidal concentration, cytotoxicity against periodontal and newlinemouse fibroblasts by MTT assay, time-kill assay against periodontal pathogens, newlineand antibiofilm assay by the cell culture method for the prepared CuNPs gel. newlineMinimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value ranged from 0.4 3.12 µg/mL, newlinewhereas MBC value ranged from 0.4 25 µg/mL for periodontal pathogens. IC50 newlinevalue of Cu-NP against mouse fibroblasts (L939) was 49.12 ± 1.67, and against newlineperiodontal fibroblasts at 3.12%, displaying 98% of cell viability. Time-kill assay newlineshowed no growth of Prevotella intermedia and Tannerella forsythia after 10 min, newlineAggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans at 30 min, Fusobacterium nucleatum at 4 newlineh, and Porphyromonas gingivalis at 24 h. and weak anti-biofilm activity. Cu-NP newlinegel is cost-effective, eco-friendly, and holds promise for combating infections and newlinepromoting tissue regeneration
