| dc.description.abstract | The study is a novel attempt to bridge the gap between theoretical aspects of GGBS based concrete newlinemixes with the industrial concrete mixes. The study has focused more on to a sustainable concrete newlinewhich is fulfilling the industrial demands. Since cement being a carbon footprint contributor, newlineexpects a replacement with the industrial byproducts with cementitious properties such as GGBS, newlinefly ash, silica fumes and rice husk ash many more. The confident adaptability of these newlineSupplementary Cementitious Materials in place of cement needs an extensive research work as a newlinereduced. newlineThe objectives of the research work not only explore the laboratory-based properties of GGBS as newlinereplacement to cement in concrete, but also extend its scope of work to industrial needs especially newlinein the mix proportioning adopted for Ready Mix Concrete. The study has been categorized into newlinethree important phases. newlineThe Phase I deals with the study on fundamental foundation for adopting GGBS in place of cement. newlineThe study has explored vastly the various percentage replacements for cement by GGBS. The newlineentire process is the optimization of GGBS with respect to water to binder[W/B] ratio. The newlineoptimization of GGBS replacement was carried out based on the fresh properties, hardened newlineproperties and durability properties of concrete with GGBS compared to control mix. The study newlinealso comprises of measuring the slump, air content, temperature setting time along with strength newlineproperties. The complete study concludes that the replacement up to 50% GGBS seems to be a newlinesuitable combination with PCE based chemical admixtures. The study also draws the attention newlinetowards using only GGBS and PCE based admixtures without any additives like alcofine, the newlinehardened properties explored at 28 days curing period as per BIS standards were extended up to newline56 days by noticing the significant improvement in the strength properties at that curing period newlinebeyond which up to 180 days curing period the pattern of graph seems to be flat.
