Abstract

Video Games emerged in the early 1970s and within a short period became a huge influence on initially the American culture and subsequently most of the West. Of late, it has also made inroads in developing economies across the globe as a popular medium of entertainment. In its short history, the video games industry ($91 billion) surpassed the over 100-year-old film industry ($88 billion) in terms of worldwide revenue. Mobile and online video games primarily getting a boost from Asian markets were predicted to account for more than 60 per cent of the total market share of $100 billion by 2017. newline
