Multi-drug-resistant and pan-drug resistant phenotypes in Acinetobacter newlinespecies are of great concern because they exhibit resistance to several classes of newlineantibiotics thereby limiting the therapeutic options. The worrying trend of carbapenem newlineresistance in A. baumannii owing to the acquisition of a variety of resistance newlinemechanisms is a global concern.
