Fossil fuels are fast disappearing owing to its increased usage, and newlinepopulation explosion and the increased energy requirement for modern newlinelifestyle of humans further aggravate this issue. In this regard, conventional newlinefuels for internal combustion engines, particularly petrol and diesel, are newlinedepleting at an astonishing speed. Furthermore, these fossil fuels pollute the newlineecosystem by emitting hazardous gases into the atmosphere. It is crucial to newlineplan for alternate fuels in order to conserve fossil fuels or to ensure the newlineexistence of technology in the future. Biomass is one of the most potential newlineenergy sources for addressing societyand#8223;s major issues like depletion of fossil newlinefuels and environmental deterioration. newlineThermochemical conversion is a promising technology for producing newlineproducer gas (PG) from a variety of regional biomass wastes. The feasibility newlineof an existing open-core biomass gasifier for varied feedstock accessible in a newlineregional zone must be thoroughly investigated. A commercial 115 kWth newlinebiomass gasifier is employed in experimental approaches in this study to newlinedetermine the potential of regionally available biomass. In a gasifier, newlinebiomasses like coir pith (CP), rubber wood (RW), rice husk (RH), and newlinecoconut shell (CS) are generally utilized as fuel source. In regional areas, the newlinebiomasses mentioned above are abundant. The gasifier performance is newlineinvestigated for four different biomasses. For CP, RH, RW, and CS newlinebiomasses, the highest calorific value (CV) of PG is 3.4, 4.4, 5.2 and 6.3 newlineMJ/Nm3 newline, respectively, and the average Cold gas efficiency is 62.65, 63.55, newline67.35, and 70.05 % newline
