Abstract
The presentresearch work has been carried outto studythe Attitude of
newlineadolescentstowardsAlcoholandDrugsinrelationtotheirParentingandPeer
newlinepressure.MajorobjectivesofthestudyaretofindoutAlcoholandDrugAttitude
newlineofadolescents,tofindoutrelationshipbetweenAlcoholandDrugAttitudeand
newlineParentingaswellasPeerpressure,tofindoutsignificantpredictorsofAlcohol
newlineanddrugattitudefrom parentingandpeerpressureandtofindouttheroleof
newlinegenderandlocality.Quantitativedescriptiveapproachwasusedforthepresent
newlineresearch.Thepopulationforthepresentstudycomprisesofalltheadolescents
newlinestudyingin10th standardinGovernmentsecondaryschoolsofPunjabstate.
newlineSamplecomprisedof788studentsfrom thestateofPunjab.Thesampling
newlineprocedurewascompletedinthreephasesbyusingMultistageStratifiedRandom
newlinesampling.Totalsix districts ofPunjab state were selected by following
newlineProportionateStratifiedSampling,4districtsofMalwaregionMoga,Mansa,Sri
newlineMuktsarSahibandSangrur,Tarantarandistrictfrom MajhaandJalandharfrom
newlineDoabaregionswereselectedrandomly.40schoolswereselectedbyapplying
newlineRandom Sampling from sixselected districts.In the lastphase,total788
newlinestudentsof10th classwereselected randomlyfrom selected schools.The
newlineinvestigatorhasusedthreestandardizedtoolsinthepresentstudy.Tofindout
newlinethelevelofAlcoholandDrugattitudeinadolescents,AlcoholandDrugAttitude
newlineScale(2010)constructedbyDr.SunilSainiandDr.SandeepSinghwasapplied.
