Number Plate recognition of vehicle using Optimal Thresholding Technique

Abstract

Text Objects recognition is for recognizing the text from the image. That image can be number plate of vehicle. It can be any house no. written on the wall. So that text object can be recognized for automation. This automation can be used for various social applications. These applications for vehicle number plate can be automatic challan on the red light if vehicle crosses or jumps the red light. Only automation system has to do is to take the image of the vehicle extract the alphanumeric characters lies into the vehicle front or back number plate. So that this extracted alphanumeric character can be matched to the database the system already has. And draw out the rest of the details of the vehicle that mean name of the owner, permanent address of the owner etc. so that challan can be send to the persons mobile number automatically. In current research our aim is to detect the alphanumeric characters from the image of the scene which contains such text related components. Once these characters are being recognized they will be stored into local memory so that they can be later on processed. newline
