Abstract
Images and videos are often corrupted by noise and degradations
newlinedue to faulty communications or noisy channels or faulty cameras in the
newlinetransmissions of images and videos over channels Even with the advancing
newlinecamera and digital recording technology there are many situations in which
newlinesome portion of recorded images or videos for a short period may suffer from
newlinesevere degradations Degradations such as strip lines drop lines blotches
newlineband missing occur along with impulse noise while recording or during
newlinetransmission Strip lines are caused by unequal responses of elements of a
newlinedetector array to same amount of incoming electro magnetic energy This
newlinephenomenon causes heterogeneity in overall brightness of adjacent lines
newlineDrop line occurs when a detector does not work properly for a short period
newlineImpulse noise appears when disturbing microwave energies are present or the
newlinesensordetector is degraded Band missing is a serious problem and is caused
newlineby corruption of two or more dropstrip lines continuously
