Abstract
The thesis contains five chapters. The first chapter of the study presents the introduction of the study primarily focusing on the essence of the aspects of Deposit mobilisation and Credit creation by scheduled commercial banks in India. Moreover, these two vital aspects of any banking systems are discussed in the context of increasing influence of technology in the regard. This chapter presents the introduction of the research where in a brief outline about the research is presented in a nutshell. Thereafter the significance of the study is presented. Digital banking has sharply increased during last one decade in India and same has been explored in term of the significance of this study. It is then followed by the deliberations on the conceptual framework of scheduled commercial banking in India. This section particularly focuses on the commercial banking development in India since 1990. In the backdrop of this, deposit mobilisation and credit creation scenario of the scheduled commercial bank in India has been presented.
newlineThe second chapter of the study presents the review of past studies conducted by the scholar for the purpose of undertaking the current research. An effort has been afoot by the scholar to develop a review of literature which contains diversified spectrum of the studies so that a clear and better view of the trends of researches in this area can emerge. The understanding of the subject matter thus gained by the scholar will go a long way in shaping this research in a systematic manner. Over particularly last one decade the banking sector has seen tremendous growth as far as the deployment of new technologies in it is concerned.
newlineThe third chapter attempts to present the research methodology adopted for the purpose of conducting this study. This study is conducted on the basis of both primary and secondary data for the purpose of collecting primary data, two structured questionnaire are deployed to collect the responses from bank managers and bank customers.
