Hz communications and sensing have attracted increased study attention newlineas a result of the introduction of current electronic devices and components that newlineoperate at THz frequencies. The spectrum between 0.1 and 10 THz is constantly newlinebeing explored for bandwidth-hungry devices in future wireless communications. newlineThis spectrum is currently empty and acts as a testing ground for emerging newlinetechnologies that can provide larger bandwidth, better transmission performance, and newlinegreater coherence. THz imaging, sensing, and spectroscopy have received interest in newlineaddition to communications. Metamaterials can be used to improve the sensing newlinecapabilities of THz technology. Researchers all around the world are continually newlineinspired to create unique microelectronic components for THz sensing and newlinecommunication applications. This thesis demonstrates some of the research newlinedevelopment in THz microelectronics such as antennas, sensors and frequency newlineselective surface which forms the basis of most of the imaging, sensing and newlinespectroscopic applications in the THz regime. newlineAcademic scientists and industrial researchers are extensively considering newlinethe relevance of MIMO-based communication systems operating at THz frequencies newlinefor development. Because antennas are such an important component of wireless newlinecommunication systems, researchers are interested in the THz spectrum. This thesis newlinedescribes a novel series-fed antenna array for use in THz MIMO systems. The first newlinepart of this thesis presents a tri-band two-element array antenna is described for newlineTerahertz (THz) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications. Each newlineseries-fed array consists of four radiating sections constructed using graphene newlinematerial. newline
