Agriculture has been the basic source of subsistence for mankind over millions of newlineyears. The present study was conducted on system dynamic modelling approach for pigeon newlinepea and ragi economy in Karnataka. Based on highest area, the districts like Kalaburagi newlineand Vijayapura for pigeon pea and Tumakuru and Ramanagara for ragi were selected. The newlinerespondents were selected by random sampling method. The total sample size was 180 newlinefarmers, 180 market intermediaries and 6 processing units. Thus, total sample size is 366. newlinePrimary data were collected through personal interviews from the farmers, market newlineintermediaries and processing units with the help of a pre-tested and well-structured newlineschedule. The secondary data related to the details of information about the area, newlineproduction, productivity and the arrivals and prices of pigeon pea and ragi were collected newlinefor the period from 2007-08 to 2018-19. Compound annual growth rate, instability index, newlineseasonality index and tabular analysis was computed. Stella software was used to examine newlinethe dynamic interactions and feedback effects among different nodes of a system. newlineThe pigeon pea scenario in Karnataka has been consistently improving during the newlinestudy period, viz. 2007-08 to 2018-19. There has been a sharp increase in area, production newlineand productivity as shown by positive growth rates during the study period. The major newlinegrowing areas like Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Bidar, Raichur and others recorded positive newlinegrowth rates in area under pigeon pea during the study period. While ragi scenario showed newlinenegative trend which was due to replacement of ragi cultivated lands by other comparable newlineand competitive crops like cotton, jowar, maize and sesame. The total processing cost of newlinepigeon pea recorded was 66,317 per ton and ragi was 34,461 per ton. The total cost newlineincurred on value addition of ragi flour was 36,905 per ton. newlineThe annual increase in price of pigeon pea every year was observed to be high in case newlineof Kalaburagi market with 328.34 per quintal. The price indices in Kalaburagi market were
