dc.description.abstractThis study presents a comprehensive framework for designing and implementing a tailored Project-Based Learning (PBL) model in engineering education. The research tackles the pressing challenges associated with traditional lecture-based teaching methods, which frequently fall short in preparing students with the practical skills, analytical thinking capabilities, and interdisciplinary problem-solving proficiencies essential for thriving in the evolving engineering industry. These conventional approaches predominantly focus on theoretical instruction, leaving a gap in the development of crucial competencies required in real-world engineering contexts. The shift toward experiential and project-based approaches marks a transformative change that aligns with the technological advancements and demands of the modern workforce. newlineThe methodology for PBL implementation was meticulously structured into stages. It began with identifying the criteria for student engagement and experience, followed by an evaluation of the existing educational system. Subsequently, a model for PBL implementation was designed and implemented. The results were then compared before and after implementation, and finally, a manual was designed to ensure smooth and effective implementation. newlineThe IMPACT CARE framework was grouped into three categories: Core Design Elements, Learning Process Enhancers, and Support Systems. This framework was developed as a symbiotic system, where each principle complemented and reinforced the others. It formed the foundation of the PBL approach, functioning as a highly interconnected system that was well- structured, purposeful, dynamic, engaging, and supportive. newlineThe research introduces practical strategies for designing and implementing the PBL curriculum. These include revising traditional curricula to incorporate credit-hour adjustments, facilitating interdisciplinary projects, and embedding real-world challenges sourced from industry collaborations.
