This thesis investigates the production and functional evaluation of bismuthbased newlinemetal oxide nanocomposites for advanced environmental applications, newlineemphasizing their piezo- and photocatalytic characteristics. Given the escalating newlineenvironmental difficulties stemming from energy consumption and water pollution, it is newlineimperative to implement sustainable solutions that correspond with the United Nations newlineSustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for clean energy (SDG 7) and clean water (SDG newline6). Bismuth-based nanocomposites offer a potential strategy due to their distinctive newlinephotocatalytic activities when exposed to light and their piezocatalytic abilities under newlinemechanical stress. newlineThe research examines the synthesis, structural characteristics, and catalytic newlineefficiencies of copper, cobalt, and zinc-based bismuth oxide ternary nanocomposites, newlineaugmented with graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) to create Z-scheme or Type-II newlineheterostructures. The 7 wt% CBO/g-C3N4 Z-scheme composite exhibited enhanced newlinehydrogen production rates and efficient degradation of organic contaminants, newlineunderscoring its promise for sustainable water treatment and renewable energy newlineapplications newline
