A study on employee engagement in public sector undertaking among managerial employees

Abstract

In today s world of shifting business environment, HR practices in any organization are well thought-out to be the vital issue in the success of any organization. Predominantly, psychological factors like employee engagement are considered to be the spine of any business enterprise. The study has been conducted among the employees of a leading heavy electrical company manufacturing various types of power generation equipments and having a managerial strength of 3800 employees, out of which 2400 are top level managers and 1400 are middle level managers. The present study was made to identify the levels of employee engagement among managerial employees towards their organization. Disproportionate random sampling design was adopted in the present study to select samples. The primary data was collected through questionnaire method. Statistical tools like Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Correlation, Regression, Factor Analysis was made use to analyze and interpret the collected data. The findings show that most of them were male and they drew a salary of around one lakh INR per month. At the outset, the result portrayed the association between demographic variables and employee engagement factors and the influence of demographic variables on employee engagement. Based on the results, appropriate suggestions were made by the researcher. newline
