| dc.description.abstract | Shifting to clean cooking fuels is vital for enhancing public health, ecological balance, and newlinesocial-economic progress. In India, many households continue using traditional biomass, newlineresulting in harmful health impacts, environmental harm, and gender inequalities. This newlinedissertation examines the factors shaping clean cooking fuel adoption, focusing on Liquefied newlinePetroleum Gas (LPG), alongside the challenges and policy outcomes in this context. Utilizing newlinedata from the National Family Health Surveys (NFHS) rounds 2 (1998-99), 3 (2005-06), 4 newline(2015 16) and 5 (2019 21), the study analyse cooking fuel usage patterns in India and applies newlinelogistic regression and Difference-in-Differences (DID) techniques to analyze household fuel preferences and assess the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) program s effectiveness. newline | |
