newline The present study entitled A Study on Mahatma Gandhi National Rural newlineEmployment Guarantee Act in Southern Rajasthan was conducted with the newlinefollowing specific objectives-: newline1. newline2. newline3. newline4. newline5. newline6. newlineTo study the personal profile of beneficiaries. newlineTo document regional MGNREGA plan, activities, and execution. newlineTo measure beneficiaries knowledge about MGNREGA activities. newlineTo workout categories of people benefited under this programme. newlineTo measure opinion of beneficiaries about the programme. newlineTo measure extent of employment gained by beneficiaries. newlinePresent research work was conducted in selected Dungarpur and Rajsamand newlinedistricts on the basis of highest number of families completed 100 days of work under newlineMGNREGA. Two blocks from each identified district were selected for study on the newlinebasis of highest number of families completed 100 days of work under MGNREGA. newlineTherefore, total four blocks were selected for the study. From each selected block five newlinevillages were selected randomly. Thus, total 20 villages were selected for the study. newlineLike this, total 240 beneficiaries were selected for this study. Data were collected with newlinethe help of well-constructed interview schedule by face-to-face interview technique. newlineThe major findings are as follows: newline1. The study depicts that out of 240 beneficiaries, majority of beneficiaries newlinebelonged to middle age group i.e. 32 to 55 years of age, 57.08 per cent newlinebeneficiaries were from nuclear family, majority of beneficiaries, (37.08%) newlinebelonged to small land holdings, Most of beneficiaries in the study area newlinebelonged to the scheduled tribe (ST) category, comprising 60.84 per cent, 72.50 per cent beneficiaries were illiterate , majority of beneficiaries, (61.67%), had newlineagriculture along with animal husbandry as their main occupation, 63.33 per newlinecent of beneficiaries were from family including 3 to 4 members, maximum newlineannual income of family was between ten thousand rupees to sixty thousand newlinerupees yearly, In the study it was observed that among four aspects of source
