dc.description.abstractLimnology is one of the most reliable tools in fishery science to assess the newlineproductivity status of aquatic ecosystem which reflects on the fish productivity newlinelevel. Likewise, limnological study too is indicative of health condition of aquatic newlinelives including fish and could be equally effective used as an aid in the diagnosis newlineof pond condition. However a definite knowledge through the limnological newlinestudy covering both hydro chemical and biological is necessary to ascertain the newlineproductivity level of an aquatic system thereby increase of fish production. newlineTherefore, studies on limnology are of great importance for a well bounded newlinefishery programme. newlineBiological assessment is a useful alternative tool for rating the ecological newlinequality newlineof newlineaquatic newlineecosystems newlinesince newlinebiotic newlinecommunities newlineintegrate newlinethe newlineenvironmental effects of water chemistry which ultimately reflects on fish newlineproduction. newlineThe freshwater, brackish water and marine regions of the world and their newlineinteractions are made up by the aquatic biodiversity, which is the variety of life newlineand ecosystems as well. newlineThe present investigation is emphasised on the limnological parameters newlineand biodiversity of two wetlands - Khalsi and Jhagrasisa with a view to focusing newlineon the seasonal variation of limno-chemical and biological aspects together with newlinethe productivity of soil and fish from the respective ecosystems. newlineThe present work is designed to assess the hydrochemical and biological newlinefeatures in both wetlands during the investigational period which is grouped into newline3 seasons viz., pre-monsoon, monsoon and post-monsoon to document the newlinefluctuation of the studied components and elements more precisely. February to newlineMay is considered as pre-monsoon while monsoon covers June-September and newlinepost-monsoon includes October-January. All studied parameters are recorded newlinemonthly as well as seasonally. newline
