Studies on Ionospheric effects on IRNSS data and their impact on space borne SAR observations

Abstract

Indian Regional Navigation Satellite Sytem are the Navigation sattelites by the Indian Space Agency. All the IRNSS satellites are designed to provide services in dual bands, L5 and S1 frequency. The signals that travel from the satellite or ground station to the satellite will encounter different errors. One of the prominent errors in the navigation systems is ionospheric error, due to dynamic ionospheric layers the path traveled by the signals from satellites to ground station or ground station to satellite is displaced and sometimes signals are lost due to heavy ionospheric disturbance. newline
