Abstract
To analyse the neurovascular anatomical structures and their variations so as to provide guidelines for effective surgical treatment planning in maxilla and mandible by utilizing cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). CBCT scans of 650 patients were included in this prospective analysis. These scans were examined for presence, location and morphometric measurements of canalis sinuosus, nasopalatine canal, posterior superior alveolar nerve canal, lingual foramen, mental foramen, accessory mental foramen, anterior loop and mandibular canal. Statistical analysis was performed from the collected data and analyzed for any association between anatomical variations and variations in parameters like age, gender, sides, site and morphometrics. CBCT demonstrated its superiority over other imaging techniques due to its high spatial resolution, making it particularly well-suited for capturing intricate anatomical details. This study also highlights potential ethnic diversity of neurovascular anatomical variations in maxilla and mandible.
