dc.description.abstractThe increased level of Social Media platforms like Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook etc., have provided us tools to virtual social congregations of like-minded people. Many researchers are working hard to understand the relationship between utility and addiction to social media; however, this study focuses on one of the most famous and prominent social media platforms - Facebook. With the ever-changing and increasing dynamics of Social Media, Facebook has been a big prompter and facilitator of depicting people to themselves. This platform, in the form of an interaction giant, has changed society in many ways. Excessive use of Facebook by users has made it a parallel world of reality. This study explores the self-presentation, personality, and behavior of urban-educated youth on Facebook. The researcher has focused on the data collected, which was further analysed and concluded using statistical tools like ANOVA and Chi-Square. newlineThrough the study, it is concluded that Self-promotion is done through Facebook posts followed by ingratiation, whereas in the statements through the respondents, it is supplication followed by Self-promotion revealing pseudoreality on Facebook. It is determined that personality forms an essential aspect of identity on Facebook. Through this research, it can also be noticed that the portrayal of personality on Facebook as a social networking site is also essential for urban educated youth as in real life. The users are consuming Facebook to gratify their needs to connect with people and entertain themselves as well.
