This thesis describes the numerical solutions of two dimensional flow of an incompressible viscous fluid through a porous surface with variable stream conditions in the presence of suction/ injection. Heat and mass transfer on free/mixed convection flows with thermophoresis particle deposition are importance in many processes and have, therefore, received a considerable amount of attention in recent years. Particularly, nanoparticles have recently gained broad interest in various fields, such as medicine and biomedicine. Nanofluid flows in porous media play a vital role on applications in engineering as postaccidental heat removal in nuclear reactors, solar collectors, drying processes and heat exchangers, etc. Owing to these and many other applications, certain studies on thermophoresis particle deposition, nanoparticle volume fraction, heat radiation, chemical reaction, variable viscosity, heat and mass transfer in steady MHD flows have been carried out in this work. This thesis presents some investigations on non-linear heat and mass transfer on steady natural and mixed convection flow over a wall of the porous wedge/vertical surface under different physical situations with or without chemical reaction for magnetic or non-magnetic cases in the presence of suction/injection. This thesis consists of an introductory chapter and five chapters dealing with the above mentioned problems. The fluid is assumed to be viscous, incompressible and Boussinesq. The governing non-linear partial differential equations are transformed to non-linear ordinary differential equations by utilizing local non-similarity/Lie group (scaling group) transformations and then solved numerically using Range-Kutta Gill method. The results are presented graphically and the conclusion is drawn that the flow field and other quantities of physical interest are significantly influenced by the various values of parameters. It is hoped that the results obtained will not only provide useful information for applications, but also serve as a complementen_US
