Design and Development of Meta Modeling of UML using Predicate Logic

Abstract

newline The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a widely used as a standard modeling tool which newlineincorporates the object oriented concepts. It consists of a set of notations for modeling software newlinesystems from a variety of views and at varying levels of abstraction. The UML diagram is a newlineblueprint of user requirement with no description. The complete information is not represented newlinein a precise manner along with the diagrams. As and when new requirements are to be newlineincorporated the software architect or developer has to redesign the system and rework. These newlineissues create a problem for the software developer to implement an adequate software. newlineIn this thesis an automated tool is developed which accepts the scenario set, usecase diagram, newlinesequence diagram and class diagram as an input. The proposed tool abstracts the information newlinefrom scenario set and also from the XMI of class diagram, usecase diagram and sequence newlinediagram. The abstracted information comprises of the components such as nouns, verbs, classes, newlinevisibility, attributes, operations, multiplicity, usecases, actors, actions, objects, interactions, newlinemessages and their artifacts. The restructuring is a process of making changes to the input newlinediagrams without modifying its functionality and maintain the same abstraction level. The newlinerestructuring process is usually carried out to restructure the expected input for the tool. The newlinepurpose of restructuring is to remove inconsistencies and ambiguities in the input. In this research newlinethe restructuring process for each of input diagrams such as class diagram, usecase diagram, newlinesequence diagram and scenarios are restructured to fulfil the process. The proposed tool creates newlinea table and stores the abstracted information for each UML diagram in a three column table with newlineno ramifications. Further the tool Meta models the contents of each row of respective table in newlinefirst order logic.
