Abstract
Today computers are ubiquitous with applications in every field of human endeavor that make the research process easier and faster with accuracy and greater reliability and fewer errors Computers also play a major role in today s world in every field of scientific research from genetic engineering to astrophysics research Bioinformatics the application of computational techniques to analyze the information associated with biomolecular on a large scale has now firmly established itself as a discipline in molecular biology In todays world the development of computational approaches is to initiate human computer interaction by developing useful tools and also facilitate researchers who need a backing of software GenPop is a web based online cross platform tool developed using PHP, JavaScript and PHPExcel in order to help Geneticist and Epidemiologist to deal with association studies in analyzing human population genetic data The tool features include descriptive analysis such as Hardy Weinberg equilibrium test, chi square p value and analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms SNP with multiple inheritance models such as dominant, recessive allelic genotype odds ratio and relative risk at 95 percent confidence interval and analysis of multiple SNPs including haplotype frequencies and linkage disequilibrium for a pair of biallelic markers as an integrated tool A motif is a short DNA or protein sequence that contributes to the biological function of the sequence in which it resides and the most fundamental studied problem is the discovery of motifs in sequences computationally Thus the motif finding tool was developed using Perl CGI and word based algorithms which exhaustively searches through the input sequences and protein sequences This motif finding tool has been designed to find sequence specific motifs and also generate size specific motifs with positions in nucleotide and protein sequences without using any trained data set like the other motif finding tools
