Investigating Subcutaneous Route for Delivery of Selected Drugs

Abstract

The aim of present study was to prepare subcutaneous formulation of Thiocolchicoside and newlinevarious admixtures of TT vaccine along with development of subcutaneous single dose device. newlineThiocolchicoside is especially useful for relaxation of smooth muscle and also used to treat newlineinflammation. Oral bioavailability of Thiocolchicoside is reported ~25% [148]. Severe side newlineeffects of drug was reported through oral and IM route. [54] This research approach was newlineproposed to overcome some parameters i.e. to increase the bioavailability of drug through newlinesubcutaneous route of administration, to establish the safety of drug through sc route, patients newlinewith diabetes and mystania gravis due to muscle weakness can not admister drug through newlineintramuscular route with ease, while patients with these disorders are comfortable to take drug newlinethrough sc route.
