Abstract

This disease affects about 15% people i.e. over 180 million people in India. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory arthritis that develops in about 1% of the population, regardless of race or country of origin, affecting women 2 to 3 times more often than men. It tends to affect during the ages of 20 and 40, the most productive years of adulthood, and is a chronic disabling condition often causing pain and deformity.
