Abstract
Ultrasonic velocity density and other acoustical parameters have
newlinebeen carried out for the aqueous solutions of ammonium chloride with
newlineammonium sulphate ammonium oxalate with ammonium formate and zinc
newlinenitrate with zinc sulphate in water at different concentrations at a frequency of
newline2 MHz at 303 K Using the ultrasonic velocity and density adiabatic
newlineCompressibility intermolecular free length acoustic impedance molar
newlinevolume and other parameters have been calculated The graph between
newlinevelocity and mole fraction of ammonium sulphate in the mixed salt solution
newlineshows a dip and a complex at a composition of 60 40 Similar
newlinenon linear variations are observed in the mixed solution of ammonium oxalate
newlinewith ammonium formate solution It shows a dip at a mole fraction of 0 8181
newlineof ammonium oxalate The same non linear variations occurred in the mixed
newlinesalt solution of zinc sulphate and zinc nitrate All the other acoustic
newlineparameters have been calculated The value of velocity decreases and comes
newlineto a minimum and then increases with concentration Velocity shows dip at
newlinethe composition of 20 80 The results are interpreted as per the intermolecular
newlineinteraction
