Biochemical composition of fractionation products from the haulms of different potato Solanum tuberosum L varieties

Abstract

newlineThe present investigation entitled the Biochemical composition of newlinefractionation products from the haulms of different potato (Solanum tuberosum newlineL .) varieties was conducted in Complete Randomized Design newline(CRD) with 10 promising potato varieties viz., Kufri bahar, Kufri khyati, newlineKufri pukhraj, Kufri ganga, Kufri mohan, Kufri badshah, Kufri lalima, newlineKufri kiran, Kufri manik and Kufri lalit widely differing in their biochemical newlinebehavior during two consecutive years (2022-23) and (2023-24). The newlineresults on haulms yield (q/ha), solanine content (mg/100g) in haulms, newlineyield (g/kg) of potato haulms fractionation products e.g. fibrous residues newline(FR), protein concentrates (PC) and deproteinised juice (DPJ) and biochemical constituents of fractionation products viz. protein (%), carbohydrates (%), ether extractives (%), ash content (%), solanine content newline(mg/g), chlorophyll (mg/g), methionine (g/16gN), tryptophan (g/16gN), newlinedry matter (%) were estimated. newline newline
