dc.description.abstractUnderwater Wireless Communication research has grown immensely in recent times. newlineThe complexity of modelling underwater wireless networks primarily lies in effective newlinerouting protocol design since it plays a vital role in satisfying differentiated Quality of newlineService (QoS) requirements of the various underwater applications. newlineThe existing network layer protocols designed for terrestrial wireless networks are newlinebased on Deterministic Network Calculus (DNC). Since Underwater Wireless Sensor newlineNetworks (UWSN) are highly dynamic, existing network layer protocols of terrestrial newlineWireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are inadequate to evaluate the performance of UWSNs. newlineTo capture the random communication behavior of UWSNs accurately, especially in the newlinenetwork layer, mathematical models of such networks become necessary. newlineIn this research work, contributions towards modelling of delay in underwater newlinescenarios with respect to; (a) Depth Based Routing (b) Routing in Void Zones (c) newlineStochastic dependencies in Tandem of Queues, and (d) Router Scheduling Policies are newlinecarried out using Stochastic Network Calculus (SNC) newline
