Microorganisms adhered to the metal surface which are highly in newlinecontact with water cause biofouling and microbially induced corrosion is newlineknown as the marine corrosion. Microbial adhesion activities alter the newlinemetal/solution interface significantly, causing changes in ion type and newlineconcentrations, pH, oxygen levels, flow velocity, and buffering capacity of newlinethe liquid microenvironment or interface. This characteristic fundamentally newlinealters the traditional electrochemical interface paradigm employed in newlinecorrosion research. At the metal/solution interface, two processes will newlineinfluence metal dissolution: passivity, which is directed from the metal to the newlinesolution, and biofouling settlement, which is directed towards the metal newlinesubstratum and the marine corrosion is nothing but when the surrounding newlineenvironment (e.g., ocean, lake, or sea) includes a naturally high salt moisture newlinecontent, marine corrosion refers to the breakdown or deterioration of metallic newlineobjects caused by an electrochemical reaction. Pitting, galvanic, stray current, newlineand cavitation corrosion are examples of marine corrosion. newlineThe high salt content in most marine habitats, along with the high newlineelectrical conductivity, makes marine bodies an ideal environment for metal newlinecorrosion causing extensive machinery to fail, resulting in significant newlineeconomic and production losses. In their natural condition, metals have a newlinedistinct electrical potential. When two metals with different potentials are newlineelectrically mixed in an electrolytic solution such as salty sea water, electrons newlinemove from the highly active metal to the less active metal, causing corrosion. newlineMetal-based corrosion causes massive structural failures and losses in a newlinevariety of industries. Nanomaterials offer a lot of promise in a variety of technological newlineapplications because of their anticorrosive and antifouling qualities. The newlinenanomaterial has a large specific surface area, is chemically resistant, and has newlineexcellent thermal and electrical characteristics. newline
