Abstract
newlineSilica fume is a byproduct of the electric arc furnace manufacture of elemental
newlinesilicon or silicon alloys. The reduction of high-purity quartz to silicon at around 2000°C
newlinecreates silicon dioxide vapor, which oxidizes and condenses at low temperatures to form
newlinesilica fume. In this research silica fume and steel fiber has been incorporated with hybrid
newlineaspect ratio. Silica fume is implemented in concrete with 0%, 3%, 6%, 9% as
newlinereplacement of PP Cement and 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% of hybrid aspect ratio 50 and 67
newlinesteel fiber with combination of 0%-100%, 70%-30%, 50%-50% , 30%-70% and 100%
newline0% by the weight of concrete.
newlineThe present research work has been carried out to evaluate the feasibility of Steel
newlinefiber and silica fume in concrete, the results of compressive strength of cubes having
newlinesized of 150 mm X 150 mm X 150 mm and tested after 7 days, 28 days, and 90 days of
newlinecuring are shown. After 28 and 90 days of curing, flexural strength of prisms of beams
newlinehaving size of 100 mm X 100 mm X 500 mm was measured under two point load
newlineconditions over a span of 400 mm (effective) according to IS 516:1959. Compressive
newlinestrength, dynamic modulus of elasticity, and ultrasonic pulse velocity were all measured
newlineon cylinders. After 28 and 90 days of curing, the stress/strain relationships were
newlineinvestigated, and the static modulus of elasticity for each concrete mix was determined.
newlineThe Cube Compressive Strength, Cylinder Compressive Strength, Dynamic modulus of
newlineelasticity, Ultrasonic pulse velocity, Static modulus of elasticity, and Concrete Flexure
newlineStrength are all covered.
newlineWorkability is found to be good as per requirement at lower w/c ratio when the
newlinechemical admixture (Sulphonated Naphthalene-Formaldehyde condensates (SNF)) is
newlineadded which play an important role.
newlineIn normal concrete, the inclusion of steel fibers with silica fume results in a
newlinemarginal increase in compressive strength, Dynamic Modulus of Elasticity, and
newlineUltrasonic pulse for both fiber diameters. The combination of 30 percent -70 perc
