Abstract
Performance Management is a management tool to optimize human performance and results for attaining and sustaining competitive advantage by organizations. Organisations are complex web of human relationships and it is these interactions that facilitates the design, implementation and accomplishment of work activities in a seamless manner. A thorough literature review, in search for relevant information s related to the topic was done. Thus, an exploratory and descriptive study was done through primary data collection. Objective of the research was to study the current trends, strength and weaknesses, impact of performance management system on the employee performance and to recommend the best strategies for an effective performance management system.
newlineThis study aims to analyze the Performance Management System (PMS) in Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) within the Delhi/NCR region. The focus is on understanding how PMS influences faculty performance, institutional goals, and overall educational quality.
newlineA mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. This study utilized a demographic survey, data were collected from faculty members and HR professionals across various higher education institutions in Delhi/NCR. The quantitative data were analysed using statistical techniques to identify patterns, while the qualitative data provided deeper insights into the personal experiences and perceptions of the respondents. To extend along with the research convenient sampling technique was adopted and primary data collection was done through 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. The analysis was done with the help of EFA, descriptive, trend regression and thematic. Both the instruments have been extensively quoted and used by researchers supporting its validity and reliability. Reliability was tested by Cronbach s Alpha test and face validity was tested by the higher educational professionals. Top and the bottom trends have been analysed along with the impact of PMS on the employee performance.
