Abstract

This research work comprises several chapters: newlineChapter 1: Covers the basics of thermoelectricity, material properties, and recent advancements. Details the CoSb3 structure, phase diagram, and research developments. Provides an overview of thermoelectric module configurations, parameters, and applications, concluding with research motivation and objectives of the research. newlineChapter 2: Focuses on experimental techniques, explaining synthesis methods and structural and morphological analysis tools (X-ray diffraction, Rietveld refinement, SEM). Discusses the thermoelectric properties measurement techniques and their corresponding apparatus. newlineChapter 3: Explores optimizing pure phase formation in CoSb3 using chemical and solid-state methods. Investigates, the routes on different criterions along with proposing the growth mechanism of the Co-Sb system for chemical method. Furthermore, impact of impurity phase on structural and thermoelectric properties are explored through various synthesis parameters and annealing processes. newlineChapter 4: Examines the substitution of CoSb3 with Sn and transition metal (Ti, and Fe) at Co and Sb sites and their impact on structural, morphological, and thermoelectric properties. Discusses the thermoelectric properties influenced due to off-stoichiometry point defects in the substituted system. newlineChapter 5: Summarizes findings for both undoped and doped CoSb3 systems. Proposes the best candidates for thermoelectric applications based on their behavior. Provides insights into future prospects for thermoelectric material improvement. newline newline
