The Poetry of Syed Ameeruddin an exploration of the social morel and spritual visions

Abstract

Syed Ameeruddin was born on 5th December, 1942 in Guntakel townof district Anantpura in Andhra Pradesh. He belongs to the Sunni Muslim family, so he inherited his mystic approach from his ancestors. After the early education at his native town, he went to Aligarh Muslim University in 1966 to earn the Master sDegree in English. He was appointed as English Lecturer at New College, Chennai in 1968, and after a long service he retired as Head of the English department in 1995. On 11th of April 1968 he married Sayeeda Begum who remained a source of inspiration for several of his great poems. newline
