dc.description.abstractnewline The increasing prevalence of Non-Linear Loads (NLLs) in electrical power systems, driven by devices like rectifiers, variable-speed drives, and switch-mode power supplies, has introduced significant challenges in transmission systems and PV installations. The resultant voltage and current harmonics disrupt the purity of power signals, emphasizing the need for effective mitigation strategies. Shunt Active Power Filters (SHAPFs) have emerged as promising solutions, with their performance dependent on factors like inverter control, and reference current generation. newlineThis research study introduces a Modified Hysteresis Current Controller (MHCC) with a Dual Fundamental Component Extraction Algorithm (DFCEA) designed to enhance the current harmonic mitigation performance of a SHAPF based on a three-level T-type inverter (3LTI). The focus is on improving performance under non-sinusoidal voltage conditions, especially in the context of a PV-linked T-type inverter-based SHAPF (PV-SHAPF). The DFCEA plays a crucial role in isolating fundamental voltage and current components, essential for synchronizing phases and generating reference currents tailored to meet PV-SHAPF requirements. The objectives include enhancing current harmonics mitigation, evaluating the proposed control technique, and comparing its effectiveness with other strategies.
