ABSTRACT newlineObjective:This study aimed to evaluate the role of Polyherbal formulation (PHF) in newlinesecondary complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus using animal models. newlineBackground:Nutraceuticals refers to natural functional/ medicinal foods or bioactive newlinephytochemicals that have health promoting, disease preventing or medicinal properties. newlineHerbal drugs are gaining acceptance worldwide because of their effectiveness, lesser side newlineeffects and relatively low cost. In view of the benefits that it offers, several proprietary newlinePHF are available for use, therefore, investigating the role of PHF for their therapeutic newlineutility is important and desirable to provide a rational basis for its employability in newlinemetabolic disorders like diabetes mellitus. newline
