The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 20 and SmartPLS 3 was applied in analysing the conceptual properties of the scales and proposed model. The hypothesis developed for the study was tested using correlation analysis, whereas the studies proposed objectives were tested using Structure Equation Modelling (SEM).. A multi-group moderation analysis with a maximum likelihood criterion was applied in assessing the degree of practice in the hotel industry. Select human resource practices are a basic factor for employees to acquire competencies that in turn significantly improve organizational functioning. Select human resource practices influence employee competencies through Compensation Management, performance appraisal, and training and development. Employees should be sponsored by training programs based on appropriate training needs, according to hotel management. A training needs assessment should be established on a cogent outcomes appraisal mechanism
