dc.description.abstractnewlineA field experiment entitled quotProductivity and Adaptability of Soybean- Knol khol-Sunflower Cropping System under Irrigated Conditions of Jammuquot was conducted at Farming System Research Farm of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu, Chatha, during 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design and replicated thrice. Treatments comprised three dates of sowing (10th, 20th and 30th June for soybean and 10th, 20th February and 2nd march for sunflower) as Factor A and four different varieties (JS- 2098, JS-2034, JS-2069 and JS-9560 for soybean and PSH-2080, PSH-1962, DRSH-1 and KBSH-44 for sunflower) as Factor B. Knol khol crop was sown as a blanket crop during rabi seasons of 2023-24 and 2024-2025. Soybean, knolkhol and sunflower were supplied with recommended application of NPK and S through inorganic sources of nutrients viz. Urea, DAP, MOP and Gypsum as per package of practices. The soil of the experimental field was sandy clay loam in texture, slightly alkaline in reaction, low in available nitrogen, organic carbon and while medium in phosphorus, potassium and sulphur. newlineExperimental results revealed that sowing of soybean on 20th June and sunflower on 10th February recorded significantly highest growth parameters, yield attributes, yield, nutrient uptake and quality during both the years of cropping. However, among different varieties, JS-2098 for soybean recorded significantly higher growth, yield attributes, yield, nutrient uptake and quality which was statistically at par with JS-2069. In terms of sunflower, DRSH-1 recorded significantly highest growth attributes. However, PSH-2080 recorded significantly higher yield attributes, yield, quality and nutrient uptake which was found to be statistically at par with PSH-1962. Sowing soybean on 20th June recorded maximum net returns (and#8377; 82098 and 98564) and net B-C (1.78 and 2.03).
