Abstract
Improved chemical transformations under the influence of green approaches are crucial for the synthesis of salient biomolecules. In this context, the metal-free and reusable heterogeneous metal catalysts involving approaches are displayed for the synthesis of crucial organic compounds. This thesis entitled quotDevelopment of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts in C-C bond forming reactionsquot concerns with the advancement of novel methodologies by employing metal-free-approaches and organocatalysis for the formation of divergent C-C bonds and structurally beneficial intermediates. The thesis has been categorised into Five Chapters of unique classifications embedded with the paramount information in details. First Chapter displays the importance of triarylmethanes in material sciences and medicinal chemistry. These molecules are important constituents of dyes and pharmaceuticals. The new trends are explored to synthesize triarylmethanes either by Friedel-Crafts alkylation of aldehydes and arenes or by the functionalization of diarylmethanes. Second Chapter displays the the B(OH)3-catalyzed dual Friedel-Crafts reaction to install a tertiary Csp3 - center. The efficacy of this process was employed towards the preparation of symmetric and unsymmetric tri-arylmethanes (TRAMs). Fourth Chapter is about the survey of the aptitude of PdatrGO-CuFe2O4 to replace different kind of homogeneous and costly metal catalysts that diverging the organic transformations. The discussed reagent couple has been proven to be the best supplants for the different kind of hazardous reagents to build biphenyl molecules in sustainable reaction media.
