newlineThe study entitled Assessment of Entrepreneurship Skills Among Rural Youth in Agricultural Sector aimed to assess the level of entrepreneurship skills for rural youth who are already engaged in various entrepreneurial activities in agriculture and allied sector. Further, the studies explores and document the entrepreneurship avenues of rural youth in agricultural sector and perceived reasons for selection of particular agricultural enterprise by the rural youth.
newlineThe support system availed for rural youth entrepreneurs in entrepreneurship was also studied. Besides, an attitude scale was developed to measure the entrepreneurship skills of rural youth. Skill acquisition of rural youth through different entrepreneurship development programme was also documented. Further, the study focused to identify the human capital for successful performance of agriculture entrepreneur. The influence of entrepreneurship development programme in entrepreneurial readiness and opportunity identification was also studied and developed the effective model for capacity building for rural youth.
newlineThe present study mainly focused on study of entrepreneurship skills among Rural Youth entrepreneurs. Though the Rural Youth entrepreneurs are available all over Tamil Nadu, the districts namely Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur and Dharmapuri were purposefully selected were for this study. Accordingly, 82 persons from
newlineDharmapuri, 57 persons from Kanchipuram and 71 persons from Thiruvallur districts were identified for this study programme. Totally, 210 rural youth entrepreneurs falling under the age group of 18-35 were purposefully selected from these three districts for this study.
