dc.description.abstractThe thesis throws light on some of these challenging problems. The investigations presented in the thesis are theoretical studies of ferrohydrodynamic flows and heat transfer, due to stretching sheet. Analysis of the two-dimensional flow of a thin film of ferromagnetic liquid on an unsteady elastic sheet has been carried out. The influence of surface tension has been the main focus of investigation and the effect of the external magnetic field is also considered. The similarity vi variables were used to reduce the partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. Then the numerical solution was obtained with the help of a shooting technique involving the Runge Kutta Fehlberg scheme and Newton Raphson process. The effect of various physical parameters on the flow and thermal distributions is investigated and also the corresponding film thickness has been calculated. The surface plot was drawn to understand the variation in the wall temperature gradient, coefficient of skin friction, free surface velocity, and free surface temperature. newline
