Performance evaluation of Mobile ad hoc networks using Multiple cross layer design

Abstract

Mobile Ad hoc Networks MANETs are self organizing, newlineinfrastructureless networks that provide flexibility and convenience in setting newlineup a dynamic network The nodes of MANETs intercommunicate through newlinesingle hop and multi hop paths in a peer to peer fashion MANETs are useful in newlinemany real time and non real time application environments and they do not newlineneed any infrastructure support The nodes are mobile and so the creation of newlinerouting paths is affected by the addition and deletion of nodes The topology of newlinethe network may change rapidly and unexpectedly Collaborative computing and newlinecommunications in smaller areas building organizations conferences etc can newlinebe set up using MANETs Communications in battlefields and disaster newlinerecovery areas are other examples of application environments The increasing newlineuse of collaborative applications and mobile devices may further add to the need newlineand usage of ad hoc networks With the increase in Quality of Service QoS needs in evolving newlineapplications newline newline
