Abstract
To prevent the scarcity of conventional materials for bituminous mixes, pavement engineers
newlineare exploring alternative paving materials to use in the bituminous mix after modifying the
newlineproperties for the construction of the flexible pavement by considering the adverse
newlineenvironmental issues and rapid growth of traffic. Furthermore, the ongoing commitment of
newlinehumanity to safeguard the environment underscores the paramount importance of recycling
newlinewaste within the construction industry, in pursuit of sustainable development. So, the use of
newlinewaste in place of traditional pavement material is also a possible solution against the rising
newlineproblems regarding the safe clearance of waste materials. The highway industry stands poised
newlineto make a significant impact in waste material recycling, provided that the resulting
newlineimprovements in pavement performance are substantial. A number of previous studies
newlinehighlighted the modification of the bituminous mixture by using various industrial wastes [i.e.,
newlinebrick dust, marble dust, fly ash, pond ash, etc.] and agricultural wastes [i.e., Rice husk ash
newline(RHA), Corn cab ash (CCA), Saw dust ash (SDA)] as filler materials. However, such works
newlineare confined only to the determination of the various properties but performance evaluation in
newlineterms of the long-term durability of such mixes has rarely been discussed. Eventually, the
newlinehomogeny distribution of reference filler within the asphalt film of the mix was not taken into
newlineconsideration.
newlineReclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) is one of the most usable recycled materials in the
newlinepavement industry. A previous study reported that RAP material could use 100% to construct
newlinethe base and sub-base course of pavement. But said material used on the surface of the
newlinepavement is limited (and only 15% was used without evaluating the performance).
newlineAdditionally, no studies were found with a desirable amount of RAP material used by adding
