Abstract

In Higher Education, University Libraries play a vital role to develop and promote Research activities in all disciplines. In recent decades, they have blossomed, into full-fledged libraries with printed and non printed resources. Nowadays E-journals are useful to the arts, science and medical student s community and research scholars of colleges and Universities. Since no library can afford to subscribe to all the relevant journals, Open access journals are more helpful for the research community and students. The basic principle of open access is the availability of scholarly literature in online. . Open Access resources in all the subject areas play an important role in research and study. newlineThis study is an attempt to find Open Access Journals and Its Implications on Science, Technology and Medical Library Users: An Analysis of Quality Factors This study covers various available journals in the library and focuses on purpose and usage of journals both subscription and open. Also this is a descriptive study on the performance of open access journals and how it is useful to the respondents. This study has been done on the basis of available Literature. Hypotheses were formulated to fulfill the objective of the study. Sampling technique with questionnaire method was used with suitable questions reflect the Hypothesis. The methodology of this study is spelt out in the mode of data collection, methods of data analysis, statistical techniques with limitations of the study. The Collected data have been analyzed by applying suitable statistical techniques and interpretations were given. The paper comes to the conclusion that the strategies of open access journals, its significance even for all other disciplines and therefore users should take the appropriate measure to get the Open Access resources that they need newline
