Its development depends on many factors which could be ranged from environmental to social and cultural; and also to the accessibility to local facilities and services. The behavior of the tourist contributes a lot to its development. Their expectations and needs have to be fulfilled through facilities and services at the destination. In some destinations, the local amenities in the form of resort and other accommodations itself have become an attraction for tourists. The pull factors of tourism in a destination must be carefully developed. The role of the host community or local people with regard to their participation in tourism related activities cannot be sidelined. Their participation in various tourism related activities helps them to develop economically. The resort plays a very important role in the tourism industry. The resort must be planned in such a way that it suits the local environment and tourist activities. It must be able to provide the tourist with some contrasting experiences in regard to their home atmosphere. The concept of sustainable tourism must apply everywhere to sustain the tourism industry. newline2. Objectives of the Research Study newlineThe following objectives were proposed to be fulfilled through this study: newlinei) To identify the factors that are instrumental in the development of tourism in Swaraj and Shaheed Dweep of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. newlineii) To study the perception of the tourists on services usually they receive at Resorts in Swaraj and Shaheed Dweep of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. newlinexxv newlineiii) To study the host community participation in the tourism related business and its impact on their livelihood. newlineiv) To develop a Service Model for better performance of Resorts Business in Swaraj and Shaheed Dweep of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. newline3.
