Abstract
The ultimate objective of prosthetic dentistry is to restore function and esthetics. In order to achieve this we use various artificial materials to rehabilitate deficiencies in the teeth and oral tissues. The most widely used crown and bridge materials to replace and restore teeth in the current day dental practice are the metal ceramic and all ceramic materials. The limitations in the currently used crown and bridge materials such as metal ceramic and all ceramic restorations encourages us to quest for an optimal crown and bridge material which may provide more optimal properties and may function in harmony with the existing oral environment.

newlineOne such recently evolved material and has gained attention in prosthetic dentistry is the PEEK Polyether ether ketone material. PEEK is a White, stiff, and radiolucent biomaterial. It is nonallergic, has an elastic Youngs modulus of 3 to 4 GPa, which is comparable to that of human bone, enamel, and dentin. PEEK can be treated using CAD CAM milling and a specialized vacuum pressing machine.Currently in dentistry it is used in the fabrication of metal framework in implant prosthesis, frame work in Rpd and also as implant abutment. This research project is proposed to analyse the feasibility of PEEK biomaterial to be used as crown and bridge restorative material
