newline The aim of the present investigation was to study the role of women in agriculture and allied activities. Descriptive survey method was employed in the present study. Under the selected households, there were 120 nuclear families and 80 joint families. A units of 280 women were selected as participants in this study. Self made instrument for collection the information regarding participation of women in agriculture and allied activities in terms of work hours. In the present study, Mean and Standard Deviation were calculated using SPSS. It is concluded that women significantly contribute to agriculture and livestock management activities in terms of man days. In crop cultivation, their participation is also significant in operations such as crop transplantation, crop cutting, weeding, plucking, and winnowing. The top most agricultural activity performed by women is harvesting and threshing. The monetary value of women s participation in agriculture and allied activities is found much closed to Per capita income of farmers in U.P which shows women s participation can never be ignored; they play vital role and monetary contribution in their families.
