dc.description.abstractnewline The present study entitled An Economic Analysis of Production, Marketing and newlineValue Chain of Mango in Banswara district of Rajasthan was undertaken to examine newlinethe growth and instability in the area, production and productivity of mango in India, newlineRajasthan and Banswara , to estimate cost and returns from mango production in newlineBanswara district, work out the economic feasibility of investment made in mango newlinecultivation, identify the major marketing channels and value chain dynamics of the newlinemango production, and identify the constraints faced by mango growers in the newlineBanswara district. The Banswara districts of Rajasthan had been selected purposively newlinefor the present study. Banswara and Sajjangarh Tehsil were purposively selected on the newlinebasis of highest latest three- years average mango grower orchard. A list of mangoes newlinegrowing villages in the selected Tehsil was prepared and two villages from each Tehsil newlinei.e., Banswara and Sajjangarh Tehsil were purposely selected on the basis of highest newlinecultivated area. Thus, four villages namely Ghalkiya, Motira, Jhamri, Sagwa having newlinehighest area under mango were finally selected for investigation. A complete newlineenumeration of all mango orchard growers in each selected village along with their area newlineunder mango were selected done. In order to have comparative analysis, all mango newlinegrowers have been categorized into three groups viz., Group First 1-6 years, Group newlineSecond 7-12 years and Group Third above 12 years on the basis of age of orchard newlineestablishment. Under each group, an equal number of orchard growers i.e., 2 orchard newlinegrowers were selected randomly from selected villages. Thus, from two Tehsil and 4 newlinevillages 24 mango orchard grower were selected randomly. In all, 24 mango growers newlinewere selected for the present study. Both primary and secondary data were used in the newlinestudy. The secondary data of area, production and productivity of mango were collected newlinefrom Directorate of Economics and Farmer Welfare and National Horticulture Mission newlinefor 12 years from
