The effective management and certification of transportation systems are critical to ensuring safety, reducing environmental impact, and improving efficiency. This thesis focuses on the challenges and advancements in inspection and certification systems in Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) in Rajasthan, India. Despite significant efforts, the current processes are plagued by inefficiencies, corruption, lack of technological integration, and outdated practices. These challenges hinder the ability of RTOs to ensure road safety and compliance with environmental standards effectively. newline newlineThis research proposes the adoption of an Intelligent Automated Software System (IASS) to revolutionize the certification process. The system leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, and data-driven methodologies to automate and streamline vehicle inspections, certification processes, and public engagement. It aims to enhance transparency, accuracy, and reliability in RTO operations. newlineA mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative analysis of user data and qualitative assessments from stakeholders. Key findings reveal that automated systems can significantly reduce fraudulent practices, improve efficiency, and foster public trust in RTO operations. Additionally, the research highlights the potential of integrating digital technologies such as block chain for secure data management and automated decision-making processes. newline newlineThis thesis provides a framework for modernizing transport management systems, aligning them with global best practices, and ensuring that RTOs in Rajasthan are well- equipped to handle the demands of a rapidly evolving transportation ecosystem. The implementation of these recommendations will enhance safety, compliance, and overall public satisfaction. newline newline
