Abstract
Early prenatal screening plays a vital role in detecting chromosomal and structural
newlineabnormalities in the fetus. The combined evaluation of Nuchal Translucency (NT)
newlinethickness and Nasal Bone (NB) visualization between 11 14 weeks of gestation has
newlineemerged as a reliable non-invasive method for early risk assessment of aneuploidies,
newlineparticularly Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), Trisomy 18, and Trisomy 13.
newlineAim and Objectives:
newlineAim: The aim of this study is to enhance awareness of the importance of the NTNB
newlinescan during early pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester, to promote timely
newlineprenatal care among expectant mothers.
newlineOBJECTIVES : The objectives of the study are :
newlinei) To observe and measure NT scan values (both normal and abnormal scan) in
newlinepregnant women attending OPD in Dept Of Obstetrics and Gynecology during 11+6 -
newline13+6 weeks of pregnancy.
newlineii) To assess the presence or absence of Nasal Bone in fetus between 11+6 13+6
newlineweeks of pregnancy
newlineiii) To counsel them about the importance of NTNB Scan.
newlineiv)To compare NT NB scan values with different ethnics origin with Central Indian
newlinepopulation .
